What is Bug - SSTTEK Academy

Bug

A “bug” is a term referring to unexpected behavior or error in a computer program or system. It often arises due to a mistake in a programmer’s code or a designer’s incorrect implementation of a system.

A bug or error in a program or system can lead to undesired outcomes. These outcomes may include program crashes, displaying incorrect data, performing unexpected functions, or decreased program performance.

In a software development process, identifying and fixing bugs (errors) is crucial. Therefore, software developers use methods such as testing, code reviews, and monitoring tools to detect errors and develop solutions for correction. Fixing errors enhances the reliability and quality of software and improves the end-user experience.
